DESIGN CHALLENGE
Design an engaging and cohesive event identity across media that announces our 2024 Senior Show. It must celebrate the Visual Arts and Graphic Design senior capstone work and experiences. The design must clearly inform, create a call to action, and capture the spirit of PLNU and its graduates.
PROCESS
For this poster, I wanted to incorporate something that inspires me—fruit! I used fruit stickers to represent each senior, symbolizing our unique and diverse talents and personalities. The slogan “FRESH PICKS” ties everything together, highlighting that as seniors in the ART + DESIGN department, we are the "fresh picks" for employers, ready to apply our skills and creativity after four years of growth. I collected fruit stickers from grocery stores and scanned them into Photoshop. I isolated each one and added the seniors' names, matching the typeface to the sticker’s font. In InDesign, I experimented with fonts, backgrounds, and effects, ultimately choosing a green background with a brown paper bag—reminiscent of fresh produce packaging. I carefully arranged the stickers on the poster, ensuring a balanced and visually appealing composition that reflected our readiness to stand out and make an impact.
